Gay-Rights groups are starting a new effort to lobby lawmakers and advocate for candidates. This new effort is being lead by Equality Ohio. The group indicates that it has about 500 dues-paying members and an e-mail list of 7,000. The group is funded in part by the Human Rights Campaign, a national Gay-Rights activist organization. National effort of several veteran political operatives to launch a third-party internet-based campaign to politically challenge the two major partys in 08. One of the key goals is to nominate a centrist third-party ticket for the 2008 presidential race. What will be interesting to observe is how open this groups process is regarding candidates and issues. I for one would not dismiss out of hand the potential for good here.
